Conversations With Ourselves.

Let’s face it, we don’t need another human being to have a full-blown conversation.

Hell, our brains our conversing with us every second of the day, telling us what to do or what not do, what we are and what we are not. It can be a challenge for us in the day to day sometimes; And to add insult to injury the Universe is listening and granting our thoughts.

Our thoughts are the reference of our emotions and moods. The conversations we have with ourselves can be damaging or beneficial.  Our thinking can influence how we feel about ourselves, and how we react to situations in our lives.

Not all self-talk is harmful, but if we really listened to ourselves, we probably would all agree that we are continually putting ourselves under the radar about this that and the other.  The best way to alleviate our self-defeating talk is to listen to ourselves as we would listen to another person we were talking to.  Say your name in front of the sentence that you created about yourself in your mind, say it out loud, that really gives what you are saying in your mind some crystal clear clarity. I have spoken to myself time to time saying out loud. “Damn Dolby, did you just say that?” It really puts (it) into perspective for me. The more I personalize the negative or the positive, the more aware I become to what flies out of my mouth or the conversations that roll around in my mind.

I work with this incredible healer who showed me this great way to catch myself when I am thinking disempowering thoughts, and it requires just one word said two times; CANCEL-CANCEL. I love it, it has really helped me to become more present to myself and my conversations with myself when I am thinking not so helpful things to myself, or I want to reinforce something fabulous about a situation, person or myself.

I love it when he says; “Dolby you have to cancel that shit out.” I laugh and realize not to take myself so seriously. More importantly, I learned that words are potent even if we don’t think they don’t do anything, they do. We might not get the result of our internal and external conversations ASAP, but somewhere down the line, it shows up in some form or another. Reminding us of our power.

What is all boils down to; reframing our thoughts and conversations, creating a personal mantra for ourselves; as I did with saying Cancel-Cancel when I was doing something that I knew was of NO benefit. These little mantras and reframes will help us become more conscious of what we are thinking and saying to ourselves and others.

Each day, I am building my mental muscle, as I trust in my own mastery, the Universe knows I got this and I shall reap the rewards; peace of, and in my mind!

“You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you.” ~Dan Millman

I am poetically clear about my beliefs which are subject to change as I change and gain more insight. Simply put; I AM and with that I have FAITH in; Myself.
